IP Lookup & DNS Lookup

Look up any IP address for location, ISP, and geolocation data. Query DNS records (A, AAAA, MX, TXT, NS) via Google DNS over HTTPS.

About IP Address Lookup

This tool queries geolocation and network intelligence data for any IPv4 or IPv6 address. Enter an IP and instantly see the associated country, region, city, latitude/longitude, ISP name, ASN (Autonomous System Number), and the organization that owns the address block.

IP geolocation data is approximate and reflects the registered location of the network block, not necessarily the physical location of a device. This tool is intended for network diagnostics, security research, and understanding the origin of incoming traffic β€” not for precision tracking.

Common Use Cases

How to Use

  1. Enter any valid IPv4 (e.g. 8.8.8.8) or IPv6 address in the input field, or leave it blank to look up your own IP
  2. Click "Lookup" β€” geolocation and network data loads within a second
  3. Review the results panel for country, city, ISP, ASN, timezone, and coordinates
  4. Switch to the DNS tab to run a reverse DNS lookup on the same address

Frequently Asked Questions

How accurate is IP geolocation?

Country-level accuracy is typically very high (95%+). City-level accuracy varies significantly β€” it reflects where the ISP's network block is registered, which can be hundreds of kilometers from where the end device actually is. VPNs and Tor exit nodes will show the location of the exit node, not the user's real location.

What is an ASN (Autonomous System Number)?

An ASN is a unique identifier assigned to a network operator (ISP, cloud provider, university, or large enterprise) by a regional internet registry. It identifies the autonomous system responsible for routing traffic for a block of IP addresses. For example, AS15169 is Google's ASN.

Can I look up private or local IP addresses?

Private IP ranges (10.x.x.x, 192.168.x.x, 172.16–31.x.x) and localhost (127.0.0.1) are not routable on the public internet, so geolocation databases do not contain records for them. The tool will return an error or empty result for these addresses β€” they are only meaningful within your local network.
